Bill McNeil
(CEO, Tri-Star Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd.)
Bill matriculated from Kimberly Boys High School in 1980 and decided to pursue his interests in the building industry, obtaining a bursary from one of South Africa's largest construction companies to study Construction Management. Upon completion Bill spent two-and-a-half years in the United Kingdom, returning to South Africa in 1990, where he was employed by a well-established local construction company before joining Tri-Star's management team in 1994.

Derek Wheals
(Chairman, Tri-Star Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd.)
Derek matriculated from King Edward VII in 1980 and enrolled for a BSc QS degree at the University of Natal. After obtaining his degree in 1986, Derek started his career in Durban.
In 1989 he left for the United Kingdom where he worked on contract.
Upon returning to South Africa in 1991, Derek joined a well-established construction company in Gauteng. In February 1997, Derek moved across to Tri-Star and purchased the company with his current partner Bill McNeil.

Pieter Swanepoel
(Financial Director, Tri-Star Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd
Pieter matriculated from Piet Potgieter High School in 1995 and enrolled for a B.Com Accounting degree from the University of Pretoria which he successfully completed in 1998. Thereafter he started his articles with the audit firm VDJ auditors which he completed at the end of 2001.
Pieter then joined the commercial sector and after a short career in pension fund administration, he joined the Tri-Star Group in April 2003 as financial manager.
Pieter has since also successfully completed Part 1 of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ board exams in 2009 and he is currently busy with preparations for Part 2.
